The tree of Life is a sacred symbol of creation, fecundity and immortality. It represents the link between heaven, earth and the underworld.
Its leaves grow towards the sky, while its trunk is related to the earth. Its roots, ultimately, lie in the underworld.
Sephirotic Tree of Life
It is the Jewish symbol of Kabbalistic thought.
It contains 10 spheres linked together. They represent the attributes created by God, which are part of the path that must be followed in the pursuit of spiritual evolution.
The symbol can be found in the inverted position, that is, with the roots facing the sky. This inversion is seen as a way of accessing other worlds.
The Tree of Life in Kabbalah can also be represented by the palm, or branch, which is a Jewish symbol.
Celtic Tree of Life
Called Crann Bethadh, the Celtic tree of life is a sacred symbol, representing harmony and balance.
The Druids believed that trees possessed powers, being a kind of link between Earth and the other worlds, as they provided food and shelter for humans and animals.
Tree of Wisdom in Buddhism
Named the Bodhi Tree, it is considered the tree of life, wisdom and enlightenment in Buddhism.
It has the shape of a fig tree, and it was under it that the Buddha attained enlightenment, being a sacred symbol as well.
Nordic tree of life
Called Yggdrasil, this Viking tree of life is shown as a giant ash tree that connects the world of gods, humans, and the underworld.
It is important that it be preserved so that the cosmos is in balance and harmony.
